  • Safety/Caution
  • The Texan Cedarwood is a small alpine evergreen that grows up to 7 m high. It has stiff green needles and an irregular shaped trunk. While the tree is native to southwestern USA, Mexico and Central America, the main essential oil production is in Texas. In New Mexico, the native peoples used Cedarwood Oil.

  • Botanical Name: Juniperus ashei / mexicana

    Main Constituents:
    Cedrol: 26%
    Thujopsenene: 34%

Its constituent, cedrol, may cause the oil to crystallize. The melting point of cedrol is 86º Celsius, so by gently heating crystalized oil, the cedrol liquefies and its solubility is improved for a period of time. It may re-crystallize again in cooler temperatures.

    Plant Part: Wood

    Origin: USA

    Processing Method: Steam Distilled

Description / Color / Consistency: A thin colourless to pale yellow liquid.

Aromatic Summary / Note / Strength of Aroma: A middle note of strong aroma, this oil has a sweet, balsamic wood scent that is similar to Virginian Cedarwood, but softer.

  • Cautions: Dilute before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.

Happy with Jojoba

very happy with the purchase, arrived as indicated,

Excellent quality

Lovely scent of lavender and beautiful colour. Will order again.

Very smooth

Very nice size and quality; I liked that there were some pebble sized pieces along with the larger chunks. Although it didn’t have that deep cocoa smell I expected, it melts nicely, and sets up and stays that way.
